Transfer 10 Week 4 Update 8-20-12

Hello everyone,

 

This week was a bit slower but the work continues on anyway. On Thursday, we visited with B. and A. and we discussed how they felt about what it is we were teaching and going over with them. A. was still unsure, but we continued to encourage him to read the Book of Mormon. I think something is getting through though, because at the end of the lesson A. was like "let's say a prayer before you go." And he asked when we were coming back, so I think slowly but surely their hearts are being softened, or at least A's is, and we are trying to get his sister to sit in on the lessons as well. They have so much potential if we can but be tools in clearing their vision to what life can be when you have the Holy Ghost with you and the Lord on your side. The rest of this week we have seen quite a few less active members and we were able to help a family of recent converts paint their kitchen. I love service, there is nothing that brings greater happiness than being in the service of another. We are also trying continually to find people to teach. Some weeks are better than others but that is how life goes and you just keep going and trying to improve the next week from the last. This is the last full week of the transfer already. Hopefully we will close this transfer on a good week and see many miracles throughout it. I know that Heavenly Father is aware of his children and he is ready and willing to bless us. D&C 130:20 says:   

 

" There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated— And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated."

I know this to be true. I know that it is only through obedience to the principles, and covenants that blessings are obtained. I know that if a greater degree of faith is excerised miracles are wrought in our lives. It doesn't take much to reach out to someone new, just be a friend and opportunities will arise where a simple principle of the gospel can be shared that has blessed your life and you can share that with them. You don't have to teach a discussion or wear a nametag to be a missionary, just be a friend to someone new or that you don't know very well and something they are experiencing or in what they say will highlight a truth of the gospel if we listen with ears to hear as guided by the spirit. Every member a missionary!
