Transfer 6 Week 4 3-5-12

Hola Amigos Y Familia!

 

So this week was okay, we did a lot of finding and the results don't show the amount of work that was put in, but that is how it goes I suppose. We had a meeting called Return and Report this week. Return and report is when all the trainers and new missionaries come together at the mission office and receive a training from the mission president and the assistants. It is to see how the first month of the newbies missions have gone and how the trainers are handling the load placed upon them. I still remember my return and report quite well and I am not sure which is more difficult being the newbie or having the responsibility of their missions placed upon me as a trainer. Trainers have an effect of the rest of that missionary's mission and that alone can weigh a missionary down. But the Lord has strengthened me and my trainee and I get along really well, we have truly become best friends together and it's been great. In return and report they talked about companionships and being a good companion as well as effective planning. Both very needed for new missionaries. People don't really realize that missionary companionships are together more than most married couples today. That adjustment is very difficult for most if not all missionaries in this mission and I am sure in general. As a companionship, we do pretty good though. 

 

Work wise this week, we picked up a new investigator. Her name is A., she is from Taiwan and she is a foreign exchange student that lives with some of the members in our branch. She has been taught by missionaries before but then she moved away, and now she's back! She comes to church every week and young women's. She's awesome! However, if or when she wants to be baptized she would have to go back to Taiwan to do it with the permission of her parents. Sooo... we'll see how things turn out as we keep teaching her. We also are trying to help some members who are married but haven't been sealed in the temple yet to reach that goal. The husband and wife are both dentists and they run two different offices together under the same practice, so they are both super busy. We are also working with some other less active people (a lot actually, more than our investigators). On Sunday, we proposed a branch mission plan in branch council. They hadn't updated their branch mission plan in two years so we made one for the members. It had 3 main goals for each of the different auxiliaries: RS, EQ, YM/YW, and Primary. Our goal is to help the members realize just how important their efforts and help are to missionary work and to help them reach higher goals in home and visiting teaching. So that's what's been going on this week. 

 

I see the Lord's hand in each and every day. Missionary work really is amazing. I know that this is God's true church restored to the Earth through Joseph Smith and that we have a true and living prophet on the earth today that speaks to us. I know the Book of Mormon is true and it has the power to change lives.
