Transfer 9 Week 1 Update 6-18-12

Hello Everyone!

Hope all the Fathers had a wonderful Fathers Day yesterday. May we always remember the greatest Father of all, our loving Father in Heaven, Heavenly Father.

Up until the weekend, there wasn't a whole lot happening. We visit a lot of different potentials, less actives, recent converts - most of which were not home. We were focusing on J. and P. who are two investigators the sisters have been teaching for a few months and got baptized on Saturday June 16. Friday, June 15 was my year mark! Crazy I can't believe it has been a year, then again I can because so much has happened in that one year. So Saturday, we had two separate baptisms to make it special for each of them. J.'s baptism was at 1pm and it went really well, the spirit was super strong during his baptism service. P. is the son of a member, that is how the sisters found him and his baptism was at 6pm on Saturday. We were basically at the church all day Saturday making sure everything was good to go for both baptisms. Sunday, both of them were confirmed as members of the Glenville ward. The sacrament meeting here is the last hour of church and church is from 10:20am - 1:30pm and the ward has a huge primary with lots of kids, which were extra wiggly during sacrament meeting yesterday. Regardless of all the noise from kids, the confirmations went well. So we had two of our investigators baptized and confirmed this past week, and we will be dropping two more investigators because they won't let us contact them for whatever reason. Our teaching pool will be down to about half of what it was, but we have met a couple people recently who have a lot of potential in becoming investigators. So hopefully, we will be able to pick up some new people to teach and bring unto Christ just like P. and J. Sister Lov., Ha. and I have been talking about going on splits with the members to get double the work done in the area. One of us would go to teaching appointments with a member and the other two would go tracting to find people to teach. I don't know when we will be doing that but hopefully we can do it soon to find those who are prepared to receive the truth restored. This is a wonderful area with a whole lot of potential, and maybe just maybe we will be able to find and teach a family or reactivate a member and teach their family and bring them together.

I know that this is God's true and restored church to the earth. The priesthood authority that once was lost is on the earth today, in this God's true and living church. The gospel of Jesus Christ is true. Joseph Smith was God's chosen prophet to restore this great work to the earth. The Book of Mormon is the word of God next to the Bible. Heavenly Father loves his children, that is why we have a prophet, apostles, missionaries and families to bring each other and others unto the Savior Jesus Christ. I came to know these truths and many more through a study of the Book of Mormon and much prayer and fasting to know these things are true. I encourage anyone who doesn't know these truths or is doubting and wondering if God cares and knows them to pray by addressing Heavenly Father and pouring out your heart and soul to Him and ask specifically if the Book of Mormon and this church is true and close in the name of Jesus Christ. I know that by doing this, by studying (not just reading) the scriptures, and praying with all your might, mind, and strength that you can and will know of these things for yourself. Heavenly Father does have a plan specifically for each of His children and knows each of us more than we can possibly comprehend. The Atonement of Christ is real! Jesus is the Christ, He really did suffer every pain, sin, sorrow that each of us has and ever will face in our lives and so much more. He really did give His sinless, perfect life for us because He really does love us that much. "Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." It is through studying the scriptures and prayer that we can know and have a personal relationship with Christ. I know these things are true! If any one has questions about these truths visit mormon.org and you can send representatives (missionaries) to know more.
