Hello everyone!
This week seemed long in someways and
relatively quick in others. Each day keeps rolling along and we have
been working hard to find people ever since I arrived here. Wednesday, we
visited this lady who is still pretty new to the church. She has been
baptized for 4 years now and her daughter just got baptized earlier this
year. We were supposed to meet with both of them that evening. When we
arrived Sister Whitt (names changed for privacy) was in tears because
none of her children that lived with her were helping her clean the
house and it was just one of those days. So we rolled up our sleeves and
started helping her and kept asking okay now what would you like to
have done. As we were working with her, everyone's countenances lifted
and she opened up to us as we were working and listening to her. She has
never opened up to us before so it was amazing to see that happen. We
continued to uplift and talk with her about the Atonement in relation to
all she's been through and by the time we finished working and teaching
her she had a complete turn around, she was smiling and laughing with
us by the time we left. It was an amazing experience, even though her
daughter had left and only been in and out quickly while we were there
it was good we were able to help Sis. Whitt.
Saturday, as we were trying a
potential, B, he let us in and we taught the restoration to him and his
21 year old grandson A. They are both Catholic and we taught them
about the restoration, it went pretty okay, the grandson was really
reserved through the lesson. B invited us back the next day.
Sunday,
Sister C. and I taught gospel principles again and then all 4
missionaries (us and the senior couple) taught the 5th Sunday combined
priesthood and relief society class. Each of us had a different part to
teach but it all went together wonderfully. After church we met with B.
and A. again, except this time more of their family were over. A's
mom and sister and her daughter were there. We talked with Ba. (A's
Mom) it turns out that she has had several encounters with missionaries
over the years. We are trying to see if we can meet with her as well.
Everyone seemed more relaxed than the day before which was awesome. We
talked about parts of the restoration again because there were more
people this time. It went really well and who knows maybe something
wonderful will happen with that family.
So yeah most of this week was
finding but there were some miracles along the way. I know Heavenly
Father watches out for his missionaries and is protecting them and
guiding them every day. I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers when
we ask sincerely and with real intent on acting upon the answers we receive no matter what they may be. I know God lives and that Christ is
His only Begotten Son and that Jesus is the Christ and He too lives!
