Hello everyone,
Hope everyone had a good fourth of July.
On
Tuesday at district meeting we met our new mission president and his
wife. They are both wonderful! President Wirthlin has a lot of
experience working for the church and he has a great spirit about him
coupled with a very firm testimony. Sister Wirthlin is adorable! From
meeting them both they are very loving and easy-going, laid-back people.
For district meeting we just did a get to know you of President and
Sister Wirthlin and they gave us their story. After that, President
Wirthlin interviewed each of us individually then his wife interviewed
us after he did. Great, great people.
Wednesday, July 4th the ward had a joint pancake breakfast with the
other ward here. It was a lot of fun for all who went. After that, we
did some finding (gotta love holiday finding, ha). We did have an
appointment that day with P. one of our recent converts, which was
nice to have an appointment. That afternoon after we taught P.
about eternal marriage, we went to the Bishops house for grillin with
some other members as well. It was a pretty good fourth of July even
without fireworks.
Friday and Saturday we were on exchanges and did
another 3 way exchange. Before we went to exchange, we got to teach a
couple less actives. And actually one of them is on her way to being
reactivated, she has come to church the past couple Sundays. After we
exchanged, Sister L., Sister S. and I headed off to an appointment
with one of our investigators, M., who we are trying to set with a
baptism date but he's still praying about it. It was a pretty short
lesson because we were late trying to find the place he just moved to
which is way far away in our area and we had a dinner appointment
afterwards. Saturday we visited some people that Sister S. had
taught while she was here.
Sunday, we taught one of our investigators
A., using the pamphlet for the Restoration and it went really well I
think. We invited him to pray about the restoration and the Book of
Mormon. We will be following up with that this coming week hopefully.
That's about it for this week, talk to you all next week.
-Sister Gifford
